Flood Wreaks Havoc In Pakistan
The first, furious shock of this year monsoonal floods has ripped its way through four provinces, causing devastation on an almost incomprehensible scale. Even as the country grapple with the post flood specter of disease outbreaks, food and water shortage and eventually land rehabilitation, it seems that the wrath of this element has not yet been appeased.
Close to one million houses have been damaged in the four provinces, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan because of the heavy floods, according to preliminary estimates of the National Disaster Management Authority. |
